STORY TIME.
When I first moved to Hawaii 15 years ago to start a practice with my husband, there were no female mentors available to me.
Someone to show me how to manage staff as a woman.
Or how to disrupt referral patterns which were based on who people golfed with.
Or where to pump in between my surgical cases.
I didn’t know anyone in the same position as I was personally or professionally.
I made it through, but it was isolating.
Fast forward 10 years. I’d been in private practice for a decade and was now sharing my journey on social media. I started helping out other young female physicians. Just phone calls answering their questions. Meeting them for coffee. And, I realized I was getting the same questions over and over. My brother was visiting from the mainland and I told him, “I just feel like women need a conference to discuss this stuff”. To build a community of like minded women. But that goal seemed too overwhelming to even consider realistically.
But when I met Dr. Natalie Crawford and Dr. Pamela Mehta in 2019, I knew this dream COULD become a reality. That together we could create this conference and Pinnacle was born.

By providing a forum for female mentorship and community, Pinnacle is bringing to the forefront the often neglected topics of leadership as a woman in medicine.
We seek to empower women so that they can pave their own path in medicine, by providing the tools and strategies of successful practices.
Our faculty present specific action points on the topics of leadership, goal setting, self care and social media. Whether you’re a practice owner or employed, you will make headway on your goals after listening to our carefully curated topics and speakers.
